What's the story behind OPERATIV®?

OPERATIV was launched in 2010 by designer Josh Suhre, after traveling the world as a pro street bmx rider for over a decade. Josh was inspired by the unique perspective riders share: pushing their athletic abilities to an elite level and tapping into their creative "third eye" flow state to reach their potential. As a professional designer obsessed with attention to detail, and a rigorous conceptual and explorative approach to his work, OPERATIV was born as a new perspective to apparel and product design. With a bold, distinct style of it's own, OPERATIV celebrates and supports the style, raw creative passion and "third eye" of riders, explorers, artists and creative visionaries.

A few years ago, we decided it was time to step up with a mission that truly focused on "products with purpose." A mission that lives beyond us.

We rely on our forests for providing abundant supplies of clean water. Our forests clean our air and fight climate change. They provide habitat for threatened and endangered wildlife. Natural disasters such as wildfire and insect and disease outbreaks have deforested millions of acres our forests. Currently more than 1 million acres are in need of reforestation in the US alone. Each product purchase from OPERATIV contributes toward the reforestation of these vital areas. We are proud to support the National Forest Foundation.

How do I know what size shirt to order?

Our shirts and sweatshirts note the fit style on the line item per product. Please refer to these to align with your size and fit preferences.
